The Liberal Democrats gained a 25% swing in Chesham and Amersham turning a 16 thousand Conservative majority into an 8 thousand Liberal Democrat one. However, the result didn’t happen without some help from neighbouring friends.

Both the government and the Conservatives who run Herts County Council must accept responsibility for the forecast £16 million overspend which has resulted in the council freezing the recruitment of all but essential staff.
The response to a Liberal Democrat motion has revealed that Herts County Council has made no progress on a promised highway drainage strategy after more than two years and it is not clear that the work will ever be done.
Liberal Democrats have attacked Herts Conservative’s refusal to allow ULEZ signs in the county saying that it will only increase the chances of Herts residents with older cars inadvertently entering the ULEZ area and being charged or fined.
