Lib Dems launch manifesto plan to fund more nurses, teachers and police in Hertford and Stortford
The Liberal Democrats' manifesto plans for a brighter future, with pledges to reverse Conservative cuts and increase funding for the NHS, schools and police.
The Party's landmark policy would give the people the final say on the Brexit deal which would include the option to remain in the EU.
The Liberal Democrats would put a penny on income tax for health and care would raise £40 Million a year for the NHS in East and North Herts, enough to fund 238 more nurses.
An additional £56Million of funding for schools in Hertfordshire, paid for in part by reversing Conservative cuts to corporation tax, would be enough to pay for 307 more teachers.
Meanwhile an additional £4.25M funding for Hertfordshire would pay for 85 more officers, helping to cut crime and ensure a stronger police presence in the area.
Other key policies in the Liberal Democrat manifesto include plans for a £100bn infrastructure fund to build more homes, improve road and rail links and install fibre-optic broadband across the country.
The Liberal Democrats will also give the people a chance to change Britain's future by holding a referendum on the final Brexit deal, with the option to remain.

Flagship policies include:
1. NHS: The Liberal Democrats will introduce a 1p rise on the basic, higher, additional and dividend rates of income tax in the next financial year raising around £6bn per year, which will ringfenced to be spent on NHS, care services and public health. This would mean £40m of extra funding for the NHS in East and North Herts based on current funding allocations, enough to recruit 238 nurses based on a cost of £42,000 each
3. Schools: The Liberal Democrats will invest nearly £7bn investment in our schools and colleges over the next parliament, to ensure no school, and no child loses out. This would mean £56m of extra funding for Hertfordshire based on current funding allocations, enough to pay for 307 extra teachers based on Treasury analysis of £45,500 per teacher.
3. Police: The Liberal Democrats will invest an extra £300m a year into policing to reverse the rise in violent crime and boost community policing. This would £4.25m of extra funding for Hertfordshire Police enough to fund 85 extra police based on a cost of £48,670 per police officers.
4. Economy: We will build an economy that works for the long term: prosperous, green, and fair. The Liberal Democrats will launch a £100bn package of infrastructure investment to help build 300,000 homes a year, improve road and rail links and install fibre-optic broadband across the UK. We will create a new 'start-up allowance' to help budding entrepreneurs, aim to double the number of businesses which hire apprentices and support investment in renewable energy
5. Brexit: The Liberal Democrats will give the people a chance to change Britain's future by holding a referendum on the final Brexit deal with the option to remain.
