Letter to the Bishop's Stortford 'Observer' dated December 2nd 2010 from Cllr. Mike Wood LibDem Group Leader, East Herts Council:-
From: Susan Gaszczak - Hertfordshire Liberal Democrats County Coordinator
October saw the launch of the coalition government's Small Business Economic Forum. The first meeting was hosted by Lib Dem business secretary Vince Cable who stressed the need to improve the flow of funding to small businesses. Future meetings will be chaired by Small Businesses Minster, and local Tory MP, Mark Prisk.
LibDem Councillors, Mike Wood, Andy Graham, Bob Taylor and Mione Goldspink all spoke forcefully against the six planning applications submitted by the Herts & Essex and Bishop's Stortford High Schools.
Local LibDems continue to have reservations regarding the revised design proposals by Hendersons for the redevelopment of the Council offices and the Causeway car park (Old River Lane development).
Residents in Hertfordshire will be stunned that the Tory Administration at County Hall has accounting errors of over £21million in their general funds. This is the equivalent of the entire capital programme for Adult Care Services and Libraries, Culture and Learning for the next three years.
The Conservative-controlled Hertfordshire County Council Educational Psychologist team has fewer than half the required Psychologists.
